PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.- This is Veteran's Day weekend and thousands of boaters are expected to be out on the waters.

With the perfect weather this weekend, more people are boating, which means more congestion.

The Coast Guard wants you to stay alert and boat safe.

Officers says it's important to prepare for potential hazards, including changing weather and traffic.

Just like driving, boaters must be below the legal limit of .08

Last year in Florida, alcohol caused hundreds of boating accidents and killed more than 90 people.

The Coast Guard says all boats should be equipped with life jackets, a first aid kit and a charged cell phone. If you have a radio on board tune into channel 16 for the Coast Guard.
