A new curfew will take effect this Friday in Downtown West Palm Beach.
City leaders say it's just a pilot program for the next few months. If you're under 18 without an adult after 10 p.m. you're violating curfew.
"I think it's a win win. I really do," says Maxx Stiles who lives in West Palm Beach.
Most businesses are supportive as well.
"The right crowds you like having out to build your business," says the manager at Clematis Pizza.
However, Margia Forestier has concerns for her son who works at the movie theatre at CityPlace.
"If he wants to catch a movie right after his shift I don't want him getting into trouble," said Forestier.
City Manager Jeff Green says there hasn't been any particular problems with minors in the downtown area on weekends. He says the change will benefit everyone and it's about consistency.
"One of the things that's been hard is 10 on some nights and 11 on other nights so we thought by being consistent doing the same time, we can try that and see if we have less issues or any issues at all," says Green.
West Palm Beach police will have message boards out to alert parents. Officers will also hand out flyers about the change.
