Dalia Dippolito's lawyers seek change of venue

Dalia Dippolito's defense team said Friday they will orally file a motion for a change of venue in her retrial scheduled to begin next week.

The defense team said they will formally file the motion to have it be heard Monday morning.

Claypool said he feels Dippolito will not get a fair trial in Palm Beach County because of how many jurors are familiar with the case.

"We are asking jurors to be brought in from other counties, similar to what was done in the Casey Anthony case," said Claypool.

Dippolito's attorney Brian Claypool said he also wanted to cancel jury selection on Friday.

However,  the judge is continuing Friday with jury selection, saying he was confident with safeguards he placed to avoid a tainted jury pool

The Boynton Beach woman is accused of a murder-for-hire plot against her husband in 2009 that made national headlines.

Dippolito was convicted in 2011 and sentenced to 20 years in prison, but that verdict was overturned by a Judge in Appellate Court.
