Help name a Mexican spider monkey

You can help name the newest addition at the Palm Beach Zoo.

The zoo announced a public naming contest for its 4-month-old spider monkey, which they say, represents the first birth for the critically endangered species this year.

The public is asked to choose from the following names:

Tesoro: for Tesoro Escondido spider monkey preserve in central America
Arana: means spider in Spanish
Novia: means sweetheart in Spanish
Moja: means one
Kipekee: means unique

All votes must be cast by Tuesday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m. The winner will be announced via the zoo’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms on Wednesday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m.

The Mexican baby spider monkey and mother Raven can be seen at the zoo’s Spider Monkey Island. A daily Spider Monkey Talk takes place at 11 a.m.
