Internet-connected toys could be spying on kids

A set of consumer groups are warning parents about two internet-connected toys they say could pose a threat to children's security.

The two toys are a doll named 'My Friend Cayla' and 'I-que,' which is targeted for boys.

According to the consumer groups, the toys engage in simulated conversation with children. They use Bluetooth to connect to smartphones and gain access to the internet.

The group says the toys ask for personal information including parents' names and home city and don't employ basic Bluetooth security, such as requiring a pairing code.
