UPDATE: The pedestrian stuck and killed by a train in Jupiter Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 73-year-old Salvador Ramos.

The incident will continue to be investigated.

All major roadways have been reopened.

JUPITER, Fla. -- One person is dead after being struck by a train in Jupiter.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue confirms a person was killed when they were hit by a train near Indiantown Road and Alternate A1A, after 3pm Tuesday.

Jupiter police advise that the railroad crossings at Indiantown Road and Toney Penna Drive are currently closed to through traffic.

Traffic on eastbound Indiantown Road should detour south on Military Trail to Frederick Small Road.
