Tim Tebow mania is coming back to Port Saint Lucie!

By midday, we expect the former Florida Gator quarterback to make his first spring training appearance with the New York Mets.

MLB.com reports Tebow will participate in batting practice and outfield drills with the team after a press conference.

The Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback turned baseball prospect is scheduled to speak with the media at 11 a.m. at First Data Field.

The 29-year-old was a big attraction in Port St. Lucie last fall. The Mets placed him here for their instructional league. He participated in a separate league with the Mets in Arizona after leaving South Florida.

Tebow could play in spring training games with the pros over the next month. But Mets Manager Terry Collins said there is a difficult road ahead of Tebow before he makes it to the Major Leagues. The manager admitted he has yet to meet Tebow.

Tebow should begin practice at about 11:30 a.m. or noon.

The Mets take on the Astros for a spring training game at 1:10 p.m. at First Data Field.
