A teenager from Boynton Beach -- who became an internet sensation after appearing on Dr. Phil -- caused quite a commotion with her friends over the weekend in Lake Worth.

The incidents, which were caught on camera, have sparked an investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Danielle Bregoli is just 13 years old but  she has 6.8 million followers on Instagram. Her rise to fame happened almost instantaneously. During a Dr. Phil episode on out of control teens, she invited the audience to "Cash me ousside, how bout dah" -- essentially inviting them to fight her.

Local woman Lisa Taylor Buchan has a bone to pick with the internet sensation and her friends.

"They overheard me saying that she should be in school and at home -- not running the streets. Came up and asked me what I said. I told them. Next thing you know, I have ice cream in my face," she told WPTV's Alanna Quillen.

The whole thing was caught on surveillance camera outside Kavasutra Kava Bar on Lake Avenue, where Buchan was enjoying a night out with friends Saturday night.

"I was pissed but that's just immaturity for you," she said. "Just immature little girls that don't understand the world and one day they will."

Just moments before, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed another fight involving Bregoli happened down the street at CJ's Grill. Buchan said she and the other woman in that fight plan to press charges.

"Truth hurts. People don't like to hear the truth. And they get offensive, act childish and stupid," she said.

Buchan's best friend Cynthia Stokes is a fan of Bregoli's. She also saw her Saturday night but had a very different experience with the girl.

"I was super starstruck. Totally fangirling," she said.

Stokes said Bregoli was pleasant and accepted an invitation to watch a breakdance show that was taking place at the kava bar. Stokes said she even paid $5 to take a selfie with the internet star.

"There's so many people judging her. Giving her a hard time," said Stokes.  "You can't even leave your house without people yelling catch phrases at you. And a lot of people who are street harassing her are in their 20s and 30s. It's like come on, just leave her alone."

Stokes said she sympathizes with the girl and believes people should cut the 13-year old some slack, adding that the girl is only human.

"When I was 13, I was doing dumb stuff like that," she said. "One girl was telling me, 'Oh, she'll never amount to anything, she'll never have a future.' When you say that to people, it just kind of sets them up to feel like the whole world is against you."

Other people on the block think it's needless attention.

"There's drama everywhere. It's just technology nowadays, the whole world sees it," said Zach Lelii, who witnessed the fight near CJ's Grill.

Either way, the incident has brought some attention to downtown Lake Worth, which Stokes believes can be positive.

"Lake Worth is expanding and growing. It's becoming a big arts community so the fact that she would show up here and bring attention to it is neat," she said.

Just a few weeks ago, reports circulated that Bregoli was banned from Spirit Airlines after a fight on a plane.

WPTV had a chance to speak to Bregoli's mother over the phone. Barbara Bregoli said she and her daughter are in New York City and referred us to their publicist before speaking any further. She says Danielle no longer goes to school in Boynton Beach and takes all of her classes online now.
