Road closures on Palm Beach went into effect Friday morning ahead of President Donald Trump’s weekend visit to Mar-a-Lago.

He arrived back in town Friday afternoon shortly before 4.

Beginning at 8 a.m., Palm Beach police blocked a half mile stretch of A1A from Southern Boulevard to South County Road. That stretch of road passes in front of President Trump’s Palm Beach home.

Police ask drivers north of Southern Boulevard to use the Flagler Memorial or Royal Park bridges to enter and exit the island.

Drivers coming from the south are asked by police to you use the Lake Worth Bridge instead of the Southern Boulevard bridge to avoid backups.

A1A will remain blocked to cars, bicyclists and pedestrians from 8 a.m. Friday until late Sunday afternoon.

The Federal Aviation Administration has placed flight restrictions around Mar-a-Lago beginning at 3:30 this afternoon. Air Force One is expected to land at Palm Beach International Airport around 4 p.m.

The president’s motorcade is expected to temporarily block traffic on Southern Boulevard during the afternoon rush hour.  Law enforcement agencies shut down Southern Boulevard from the airport to A1A for the motorcade.

The White House has not released a schedule for the president on Saturday and Sunday, but there could be temporary closures if the president leaves Mar-a-Lago.

On Friday night, President Trump will speak at a Republican National Committee event in Palm Beach.

This is the president's fourth trip to Mar-a-Lago since his inauguration on Jan. 20.
