In a first since protests became routine in Palm Beach County after President Donald Trump has been elected, a demonstrator has been arrested.

The protester was arrested, cited on scene-given traffic ticket, a notice to appear, and released. Another protestor was detained, questioned by the Secret Service and released.

Law enforcement was in riot gear.

Otherwise, it was peaceful protest, with around 100 people demonstrating.

Here's a part of the message from the demonstrators that were there from both sides.

"He talks about war. We want peace. We want rights for everybody," says Toni Scorsese, an anti-Trump demonstrator. "This is America. We want people to feel welcome here and safe. That's the point. That's why we started this country."

"A proud American vet. I served my damn country and I am not going to take any crap from anybody," says David Armstrong, a pro-Trump demonstrator. "I'll tell you what I was on disability, I'm still on disability but I'm out there looking for work and I found a damn good job," said David Armstrong, a pro-Trump demonstrator.

NewsChannel 5 reached out to the Secret Service to ask for details on the arrest, but haven't heard back.

President Trump was speaking to republican donors Friday night at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach during the demonstrations.
