MCSO: Postal worker admits stealing gift cards

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. -- A postal worker has been arrested in Martin County and is facing charges after deputies say she admitted to stealing gift cards as she processed mail at her job.

Robin Poetzsch (also known as Robin Butts), 59, is a 14-year U.S. Postal Service employee who primarily worked out of the Jensen Beach Post Office on NE Savannah Road.

Poetzsch was arrested and charged with 5 counts of Petit Theft and 1 count of Tampering with Evidence.

Detectives say they tracked at least 4 victims who sent cards or mail containing gift cards to family or friends, but the mail never arrived to its intended recipient.

Poetzsch admitted taking gift cards and discarding the remaining contents of the envelopes.

Detectives believe there could be more victims who don't realize that their mail never made it to their intended recipient.

Robin Poetzsch was booked into the Martin County Jail. She was released on a $3,000 bond.
