Homes are no longer threatened by a brush fire that began in Jonathan Dickinson State Park, according to the Florida Forest Service.

It says a quick response from firefighters redirected the danger.

The fire began in an area where a prescribed burn took place last year and has spread to 100 acres.

As of 3:55 p.m. it was 80% contained.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is assisting Martin County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service.
