Boynton Beach kid found living with dead insects

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Police say a Boynton Beach woman was living in "deplorable" conditions with a 12-year-old.

Josephine Daffin, 47, was charged Monday with child neglect and cocaine possession.

Investigators say the home on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Northwest Third Street had dead insects all over the floor.

The home also reportedly did not have electricity.

Detectives say they found marijuana in the child's room and crack cocaine in Daffin's purse.

The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified.

Daffin was released on bond Tuesday, according to Palm Beach County jail records.
