Former Tequesta police chief arrested

The former police chief of Tequesta was arrested on battery charge Monday night.

Palm Beach County Jail records show that Gerald "Pete" Pitocchelli, 59, of suburban Lake Worth, was booked at 7:05 p.m.

Pitocchelli resigned as the chief in October 2012 citing health reasons but was accused of sexual harassment against an employee in March 2011.

In the early 1990s, he was a Delray Beach police officer and president of the city's police union.

No bond has been set regarding his arrested Monday night.
