A big barge broke loose from a tugboat and washed ashore Thursday morning on Singer Island.

The U.S. Coast Guard says that it was notified around 5 a.m. about the barge.

The Coast Guard said there are injuries, and no pollution has been caused from the beached barge.

A representative with Sea Tow said they believe the barge is empty, so the main concern is a nearby natural reef.

The barge was hauled back into the water around 3 p.m.

The vessel, named the Baymaster IV, is based out of the Port of Coeymans in upstate New York.
