Sheriff: Homes sold illegally, man arrested

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara has announced the arrest of Christopher P. Williams in connection with multiple real estate frauds.

Williams purchased several properties using a quit claim deed, Sheriff Mascara said. Three of the four homes were sold by Williams to another party, and he was living in the fourth, he added.

"In each of these instances, fraudulent signatures were used by Williams to represent the property owners as well as the witnesses to the transactions," Sheriff Mascara said.

Williams faces one count of Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and four counts of grand theft.

Sheriff Mascara thinks there might be more victims and asks anyone who might be a victim to contact the sheriff's office.
