Game Fish Lagoon Opens

June 4th, 2006--A coastal nature lover's paradise opens on the Treasure Coast.

The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center welcomed visitors to the grand opening of it's new game fish lagoon. The 750,000 gallon salt, water lagoon will be home to many varieties of game fish you typically find in our coastal waters--everything from snook to sea trout to snapper.

"This gives a good big exhibit for them to be displayed in and for us to talk about and educate people about so that they in turn can become good stewards of the environment and help protect the habitats they live in."

The lagoon will be part of the future Treasure Coast Fishing Center, a place where families and anglers can learn about responsible game fishing.
