COPY-Divers report finding dead whale shark off Boca Raton Inlet

Associated Press - June 11, 2007 6:14 AM ET

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - A group of scuba divers say they discovered a dead 30-foot whale shark floating about a half-mile from the Boca Raton Inlet.

The divers from the South Florida Dive Headquarters reportedly made the discovery yesterday just after diving the Sea Emperor wreckage.

The divers say they've contacted authorities, and want to know how the shark died.

Whale sharks are the world's largest fish, growing more than 50 feet long.
