Wrong number: Teen offers to sell detective drugs

GULFPORT, Fla. (AP) - A 14-year-old is in jail after dialing a wrong number.

Police say the teen mistakenly called the home of a Gulfport detective and offered to sell him drugs.

Detective Matt Parks says the teen first asked for a name he didn't recognize. He says he told the teen he had the wrong number, but the teen kept talking.

Parks arranged to meet the deal behind a school to buy marijuana and crack cocaine. The detective then called police to have some on-duty officers meet the teen.

Investigators say the teen apparently dialed a random number to try and get some new business.
