KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - A 25-year-old mother who allegedly left her baby in a hot, locked car for more than a half-hour has been arrested.
An off-duty Kissimmee police officer noticed the 3-month old at a shopping center Saturday night and tried to find the parents.
Authorities say the baby was taken to the hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Investigators say the child was sweating profusely and maintained a 100 degree temperature more than 20 minutes after being removed from the car.
The infant recovered and was released to the care of another family member.
The mother, Tashana Luz, of Kissimmee, was charged with child neglect.
