PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) - A Collier County woman has been found in the trunk of a car in an apparent kidnapping.
But police are still looking for the person Michelle Parr says forced her into the trunk early yesterday morning.
The sheriff's office says the Port Charlotte woman told detectives she was approached by a man asking for directions, but then told her he had a gun. She says she let the man get into her car and drove off.
When they reached the Everglades, she says the man told her to get in the trunk. A sheriff's deputy checking out the car heard her yelling and found her about a half hour later.
The man is described as about 35-years-old with light brown hair, wearing a light colored shirt and pants.
Police say the kidnapper never showed Parr a gun. She was not injured or robbed.
The investigation continues.
