When "YouTube" users go too far

YouTube is a great way to post your amateur videos. You can pretty much find any type of video on the Web site, but, oftentimes, users go too far in the content they post.

Late last summer, a Manta Ray was captured by some beach goers on Peanut Island. They then decide to film themselves torturing the animal.

The short video, posted on YouTube, shows the ray being poked by a knife and stepped on. At one point, its tail is almost cut off.

This is the comment from the user "Zalpz" who posted the video:

  • "The people in the video have no connection to the person who filmed it.
Manta Ray got pulled on shore by some Landscape people chilling on Peanut Island with a cast net. Wait till the end to hear what they made with it at night with help from Bobby Flay."

The video has since been removed from the site. And the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is now looking for the perpetrators who posted the video.

It seems as though this is an occurring incident on YouTube - innocent people and animals being abused by bullies - all for a couple of good laughs.

After viewing a video, you may click the link "flag as inappropriate".

  • "When a video gets flagged as inappropriate, we review the video to determine whether it violates our Terms of Use-flagged videos are not automatically taken down by the system. If we remove your video after reviewing it, you can assume that we removed it purposefully, and you should take our warning notification seriously."
