Is a corporate marriage ahead for Arby's & Wendy's?

Could Arby's and Wendy's be in line for a corporate marriage?

Investor Nelson Peltz has told fast-food chain Wendy's International that his firm is a "natural strategic buyer" for the company.

That's according to a regulatory filing.

Peltz' Triarc already owns Arby's, a chain of more than 3,000 fast-food outlets. He is a major shareholder in Wendy's and has pressed for change at the company.

Wendy's recently slashed its outlook for earnings this year and repeated that it was exploring options including a sale of the company.

Triarc says in an SEC filing that it was considering whether to participate in the Wendy's auction.
