MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) - A project to remove abandoned boats from the Indian River Lagoon is underway in Melbourne.
Authorities removed the first 3 of about 70 derelict vessels yesterday.
The boats were damaged and abandoned during the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes. The project is expected to take about two months.
