LAKELAND (AP) - A Neighborhood Watch leader is being held without bail in the Polk County Jail this morning for allegedly stabbing a 15-year-old girl to death.
Mark William Kuzara is charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities say Stacey Lynn Gloe had been stabbed nine times when they found her in Kuzara's home early yesterday. Kuzara told police he acted in self-defense, but investigators say the evidence points to murder.
According to police, Kuzara served Stacey and a friend alcohol. The friend left Kuzara's home about an hour before Kuzara called 9-1-one to say someone had been stabbed and needed medical attention.
