COPY-Gay library to move to city building

Associated Press - July 11, 2007 4:14 AM ET

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - A Fort Lauderdale city building may soon be housing more than just government employees. It could include hard core pornography.

The city commission voted 3-2 to allow a gay-interest library to move into the building.

Mayor Jim Naugle said he is troubled to think a city building could house materials with content people have been arrested for in the past.

The Stonewall Library bills itself as 1 of the nation's largest collections of gay and lesbian literature.

The vote followed recent tensions between the city's gay community and Naugle.
