COPY-Theme park sued for accident that severed girl's feet

Associated Press - July 13, 2007 6:33 AM ET

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A couple whose teen-age daughter was severely injured at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom have sued the theme park.

They also want a judge to order the park not to destroy a cable that investigators believe severed the girl's feet.

Randall and Monique Lasitter filed the lawsuit on behalf of 13-year-old Kaitlyn Lasitter. She remains hospitalized in good condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Doctors reattached Kaitlyn's right foot after the June 21st accident but couldn't save the left.

The lawsuit alleges the park was negligent in inspecting and testing the ride.
