COPY-BSO: patrol car rolled to avoid hitting boy, 15

Associated Press - July 18, 2007 8:34 AM ET

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A 15-yer-old is to blame for causing the patrol car of a Broward sheriff's deputy to roll over.

The unidentified teen doesn't even have a license.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says he was driving in the wrong direction yesterday in Pompano Beach when the deputy swerved to avoid hitting the car. The patrol car then rolled over on its side.

The teen ran from the scene but was caught shortly after. Charges are pending.

The deputy was not seriously injured.
