LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a disease that kills trees and ruins fruit has moved into another of Florida's top citrus-producing counties. The discovery in Hardee County means citrus greening is now affecting trees in 4 of the top five production areas from last season.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - The National Transportation Safety Board says a Delta jet that almost collided with another airline at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport had touched down when air traffic controllers urged it to take off again. The planes -- carrying a total of 300 passengers -- came within 100 feet of colliding.

ST. CLOUD, Fla. (AP) - Thanks to surveillance video, St. Cloud police say they were able to arrest a mother for allegedly using her children to steal a puppy. Tami Loechner is charged with puppy theft and contributing to the deliquency of her children.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Patriot missile has been found in a Tampa scrap metal yard. Explosives experts at MacDill Air Force Base were called to the scrap yard on July eleventh to identify an odd-looking object in a heap of junk. The experts say the object was a surface-to-air missile, minus its warhead -- so it's harmless.
