TMZ is the first entertainment news magazine that cover Hollywood as it really is... and celebrities as they really are. While other shows wait for the red carpet photo-op, TMZ will go places where the stars work, live and party.
TMZ stands for "Thirty Mile Zone", which refers to the area around Hollywood that stars live, work and play. The unique style of journalism covers stars as they really are - not what their publicist wants you to know.
The New York Times called TMZ.com "The Web site Celebrities Fear" - June 25, 2007. "Enormously Influential...TMZ.com has often set the pace on celebrity stories," said the Times. In fact, many in the mainstream media consider TMZ.com a sort-of wire service for entertainment news. Brandweek said, "They accomplished all this with something many consider obsolete ... good journalism".
