Phone services raising as much as 300 percent

The convenience of caller ID may soon cost you more.

AT&T and Verizon are raising prices for caller ID and other popular phone services by as much as 300 percent. It affects customers who have a land line using the company's bundled services package.

Dozens of states are giving in letting the carriers jack up prices. Caller ID could cost as much as $10 a month; that's up from $6.17.
