St. Lucie detectives uncover 57 pot plants in home

Another alleged grow house worth almost $1 million is shutdown.

A couple was allegedly in charge of the operation. We're told they lived in Hialeah and would visit the house near Port St. Lucie only to tend to the plants and cut the grass.

St. Lucie County sheriff's detectives hauled away 57 pot plants. We're told the plants churned out a pound of pot each four times a year.

The growing area featured an irrigation system and a cooling system that blew air directly into enclosed light fixtures to make it so police helicopters with infrared cameras couldn't spot them.

Detectives believe the suspects were working independently and did not have ties to any other local grow houses.
