COOPER CITY, Fla. (AP) - Forget wearing your Sunday best to a service at the Flamingo Road Church in Cooper City.
The church broadcasts some services live on the Internet so worshippers can pray in the comfort of their homes.
The Reverend Brian Vasil is Flamingo Road Church's Internet campus pastor. He says all the experiences of a Sunday service are now available online. Up to 1,000 people log on each weekend.
Some church officials say Internet services helps connect people who are disabled, who recently moved out of town or who don't feel comfortable in group settings.
Vasil says he's also performed an Internet baptism for a former congregant who now lives in Georgia. Vasil asked the woman to find a fellow Christian who could lower her into the water and raise her while he talked to them by speakerphone from Cooper City.
