Surgery gone wrong: What happened to Kuleba?

We just got our hands on the 9-1-1 call from the plastic surgeon's office where Stephanie Kuleba was under the knife.

The call shows that the West Boca High School cheerleader was already in serious trouble when emergency officials were notified. She was undergoing reconstructive breast surgery when her body temperature started to spike.

By the time of the call, Kuleba had already flat lined and was being shocked with paddles.

Dispatcher: Is she breathing?
Caller: Yes, she is.
Dispatcher: Is she conscious?
Caller: No, she's sedated.

She was having surgery.

Dispatcher: She's unconscious, okay.
Caller: She has an endotracheal tube in her.
Dispatcher: She has a what endotracheal tube in her. She has a what tube in her?
Caller: An endotracheal tube in her. She's tubed, and they're shocking her.

The surgery started at about 8 a.m. Friday at the office of Dr. Steven Schuster. The 9-1-1 call was made at 9:40 a.m.

We don't know what time Kuleba started to show signs of trouble. She died at Delray Medical Center.
