Men charged with leading police on car chase

Three Fort Lauderdale men face a judge Tuesday; they're charged with leading police on a dangerous car chase through Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies say that Brian Reed held a man at gunpoint at a McDonald's parking lot near Boynton Beach. Reed took off in that car.

Deputies followed closely behind. He finally crashed the black Nissan near Indiantown Road in Jupiter.

The mother of the carjacking victim didn't want to be identified, but tells her only worry was for her son. "I am grateful; I am thankful. I didn't care about the car. As long as my child is okay, that's all I'm concerned about."

Deputies believe Reed had two accomplices, Anthony and Steven Pearson. They led police on a separate chase in a stolen car out of Miami. Their car finally crashed at Kanner Highway at I-95 in Stuart.
