Local Military Academy cleared of wrongdoing

Prosecutors have thrown out all allegations of child abuse against a Port St. Lucie Residential Military Academy.

DCF launched an investigation into Victory Forge Military Academy's discipline practices after a Cadet ran away in April still wearing shackles.

Prosecutors say that the shackles are part of the corporal punishment that parents at Victory Forge sign up for.

The cadet also alleged he was choked and had feces wiped on his face. Prosecutors could not prove any of that. The academy will no longer use shackles.
