Jacksonville teen shot over sagging pants dispute

JACKSONVILLE, FL (AP) - Jacksonville authorities believe a man shot an 18-year-old after a dispute over the teen's sagging pants.

Witnesses told police Saturday night that 54-year-old John Constantin started to argue with David Mitchell after telling Mitchell to pull up the pants. The teenager pushed Constantin; then, Constantin shot him in the stomach according to The Florida Times-Union.

Mitchell has been released from a hospital, the newspaper reports.

Constantin is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He is being held in jail on $100,003 bond, according to jail records. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
