Associated Press - July 18, 2008 6:14 AM ET

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 49-year-old woman who died in a small plane crash at Vandenburg Airport east of Tampa.

The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office said Patricia Snyder of Stuart was aboard an "Angel Flight" to a Tampa hospital for treatment on Thursday when the aircraft crashed.

A Hillsborough Fire Rescue spokesman said the Beechcraft Bonanza crashed about 100 feet off a runway after taking off.

Fire rescue personnel arrived to find the plane burning and used foam to put it out. The wreckage was scattered over a 100-yard area.

Authorities identified the pilot as 81-year-old H. E. Northcott. Fifteen-year-old Tyler McLellan also died in the crash.
