DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Neighbors say it all started when the woman backed out of a parking spot, apparently, going too fast and ended up across the street. She, then, hit it on drive going too fast, again, and plowing through a wall.

Emergency crews were seen boarding up the chaotic scene around 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Delray Beach police say an unidentified female driver lost control of her orange minivan in the Rainberry Woods subdivision near Lake Ida Road at Military.

At first, people were rattled by the sounds of her van slamming into three other vehicles as she was backing out of the parking lot. "She ended slamming into a car and pushing it onto our house. Then, slammed into my dad's car, slanting it, as it was straight," said witness Christina Hernandez.

Then, witnesses say, she plowed through the house across the street. On the other side of a brick wall: Two people in a bedroom.

"There was a 12 year old inside the house and an adult male hit by flying blocks from the wall being hit," said Delray Beach Fire Battalion Chief Russ Accardi.

Despite what some say sounded and felt like an explosion, the two in the house were alert. The driver was knocked out cold.

Firefighters don't know what caused the woman to drive so fast and panic.

Neighbors like Christina Hernandez are just thankful none of her children were hurt. "We need to thank our lucky stars none of the kids were hit. It would have destroyed them."

The home remains boarded up. We are told the girl and the 24-year-old male had non-life threatening injuries. We don't know the woman's condition, but she was taken to the trauma center at Delray Medical Center.
