WEST PALM BEACH, (WFLX) - One person is shot and killed overnight; another's in the hospital. And the search for the killer continues.

It happened about 1 a.m. Friday near Dyer Park in suburban West Palm Beach.

By the looks of things, there doesn't appear to anyone saw anything.

According to investigators, someone made a 9-1-1 call at around 12 a.m. Friday saying he or she heard gunshots in the area. When deputies arrived, they found one black male shot and on the ground on the corner of Dyer Blvd. and Haverhill Road.

Fire rescue officials pronounced him dead at the scene. But police and deputies also found another black male who was also shot a short distance away. That victim was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center where he is undergoing surgery. He is listed in critical condition.

PBSO's Violent Crimes Taskforce have taken over the investigation, but they're really working with very little to go on. So far, there is no word of any witnesses having seen anything.

Anyone with information about this double shooting is being asked to call the Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1-458-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward.
