American Red Cross shelter locations

Shelter from storms open in Glades and Okeechobee Counties:

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Red Cross) - With reports of Tropical Storm Fay expected to make landfall within hours, The American Red Cross Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter is activating its shelter operations plan to serve residents in need of a safe place to stay the night.

The following shelters will open as of 6 PM Monday.

GLADES COUNTY
West Glades Elementary School

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY

Osceola Middle School

The Red Cross reminds residents that a shelter is an available and ready option for residents concerned for their safety.  If you go, please bring basic toiletry and comfort items, bedding, comfort toys and items for children, and medications. The law prohibits pets, alcohol, drugs and weapons in shelters.
