Boil water notice for Riviera Beach extended

RIVIERA BEACH (CITY OF RIVIERA BEACH UTILITY DISTRICT) - The boil water order issued Monday, September 8 has been extended for another 24 hours.

UPDATE, FRI 11 AM: The extension is in response to an inconclusive water quality test result late Thursday afternoon.  As a precautionary measure, Utility District managers made the decision to extend the boil order.

The boil water order is now expected to be lifted on Friday, September 12 at 8:05 PM.

The area affected is the north and south side of Blue Heron Boulevard from I-95 west to Military Trail.

Business customers in this area include McDonalds, Burger King and Denny's. The residential area affected is Palm Lake Estates Mobile Home Park.

A contractor working on the I-95 reconstruction project accidentally broke a water main at approximately 5:30 PM Monday. The Boil Water Order is a result of that action. Repairs could take as little as three to four hours to as long as 24 hours.

The 72-hour boil water order will be in effect when repairs to the water main are completed.

An update with specific hours for the boil water order will be issued when repairs have been completed.
