Paws to Help needs help

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The latest victim of the economy appears to be a struggling animal shelter.

Paws to Help is now a small, cramped bus that houses dogs, cages, water - everything they need that used to be in a large building.

"It's been very stressful," said Chris Lacroix, the facility manager at Paws to Help. Lacroix said that things are so bad right now and so desperate that he doesn't know how the non-profit can make it through this. "It seems like the animals are second and moving forward the business is the most important thing."

You may remember that Paws to Help was recently told they had to leave their building because they weren't properly zoned. Now, the hope is that the animal shelter will find someone willing to donate their commercial general property.

"We don't expect anything for free we will pay rent," Lacroix said.

While the workers here wait for a miracle, they said, in the meantime, it's the animals who will suffer the most.

"The service is irreplaceable it's unreal how many people depend on this clinic. We really need someone to come forward with an empty space," Lacroix said.
