WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Fists fly in a local courtroom Monday after the brother of a murdered man cannot control his anger.

The hearing turned nasty, and a scuffle broke out right in the middle of a West Palm Beach courtroom. There was shouting and a lot of punching. The whole thing was caught on tape.

The prisoner, 17-year-old Shane Brown, never knew what hit him. He was appearing before a judge on a charge of manslaughter. But, before the hearing could even get started, he was attacked.

The attacker, later identified as 26-year-old Tavares Lewis, is the brother of a man killed over the weekend.

Deputies rushed in trying to subdue him. It ended with Lewis being whisked out of the courtroom with deputies latching onto his hair and T-shirt.

The guy who was hit, Shane Brown was in court, on charges relating to the death of Kenneth Lewis.

Investigators say on Saturday night, Lewis was beat up and left on the side of the road where he was later run over by a car.

Tavares Lewis is charged with battery, child abuse and resisting arrest without violence. The sheriff's office says the juvenile prisoner who was punched was not seriously injured.
