Webster's Word of the Year

(WFLX) - Webster's online dictionary releases its word of the year. It's the one word most recognized in the English language in 2008.

So, what is it? Bailout.

The publisher says "bailout" was an easy choice for its annual Word of the Year honor - thanks to the rough global economy.

Other phrases that made top honors on the list include: turmoil, as in financial turmoil, and words used in the presidential campaign, such as bipartisan, and of course, maverick.
