Ford's CEO will work for a Buck!

(WFLX) Auto sales are down. Automakers say they are in serious trouble. Today the big three U.S. automakers say they are counting on Congress to help them out of this financial mess.

Ford sales have dropped 31 percent. General Motors and Chrysler sales have plunged more than 40 percent, all in the month of November.

Still automakers say their companies are worth saving. "The cost of a bankruptcy or a loss of a U.S. manufacturer of automobiles is a far greater cost than a loan for a couple of years."

Ford's CEO says he'll work for one dollar per year -- if it helps convince Congress to give car companies a multi-billion dollar bailout. Lawmakers will talk to auto expects more. When they return for hearings on Thursday and Friday
