(WFLX) - Investigators are trying to determine why two small planes collided in midair over the Florida Everglades killing four people.

Federal Air Crash Investigators say pieces of the planes will be reassembled to determine their positions during the Saturday collision. One of the victims is a pilot from Stuart.

Authorities say 21-year-old Andrew Rossignol was one of four people killed in a midair collision over the Everglades Saturday.

Officials are still investigating the details of the crash. But in the life that Rossignol left online, we are learning much more about the young man who apparently loved to fly.

On his Facebook page, Rossignol filled his profile with photos of him flying and fishing. Under one of the photos of him in the cockpit, he writes, "I was born for this".

There are photos of Rossignol not only flying but teaching others to fly as written. Friends have written messages under the photos and on Rossignol's Facebook wall.

One friend writes: "I still don't know how you left us, but I will feel comfort if it has anything to do with how you followed your heart flying up there above us!"

Another: "I'm flying every day thinkin of ya man - much love goes out to you and your family!"

Rossignol was in one of two planes that crashed in midair over the weekend. A Coast Guard helicopter found the wreckage in an area of the Everglades only accessible by airboat. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

We do know that Andrew Rossignol was a licensed pilot. Our partners at the Palm Beach Post report Tuesday morning that he started giving lessons at a flight school in Stuart while pursuing a full-time job as a pilot.
