Wellington collision injuries several

WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - Wellington neighbors point to a weekend accident as reminder they need a traffic signal.

Neighbors near Forest Hill Boulevard and Kirka Street have been begging county leaders for a traffic light for years to prevent accidents like Sunday's. Everyone survived, but several were hurt.

Neighbors say the road was recently widened and turn lanes added, so it just keeps getting busier.

Those who live in the area say a signal will keep tragedies from happening in the future. "We should keep trying for all the kids."

"No one has lost their life yet, but, God forbid, a kid gets hurt," another added.

The neighborhood coordinator says the county commission has already given the green light for a signal to go in. But adds the completion date keeps getting pushed back.

Right now, the looming done date is February 1. Residents just hope that date actually sticks.
