Car crash ends in suburban Boynton backyard

BOYNTON BEACH (WFLX) - A car crash that began on the roadway and ended in someone's back yard sent two women to the hospital and snarled traffic in suburban Boynton Beach on Military Trail this morning.

The crash happened about 6:15 a.m. when a black Honda leaving the Jamaica Bay community headed west and hit a red Ford traveling north on Military Trail just south of Gateway Boulevard.

After the cars collided, the Honda continued for 200 feet before coming to a stop in the backyard of a home at 5095 Addie Court in Rainbow Lakes, according to preliminary information from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office.

The drivers, both women, were taken to Bethesda Hospital where they were to be treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening.

Military Trail was closed for about an hour before the cars were cleared and the road opened shortly after 7 a.m.
