GREENACRES, FL (WFLX) - The ribbon was cut and the doors were opened on a new local grocery store Wednesday morning, bringing more than 100 jobs to the area, officials said.

The new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market opened at Lake Worth and Jog Roads in Greenacres at 8 am. The store opening was greeted by a high school band, local dignitaries, and members of the public.

"This is outstanding for the community," said store manager Tim Parker. "We've brought over 100 jobs to the community and Wal-Mart is just so dedicated."

"It's going to be absolutely wonderful," Parker added.

The retailer says they renovated the location using green materials, adding environmentally-friendly fixtures to reduce energy and water consumption, and to minimize waste.

This is the second location for the Neighborhood Market chain in Palm Beach County. The first opened in West Palm Beach in June 2008.
